Under-seasoned meat is a crime. That poor, simple-headed chicken gave its life for you and ¼ teaspoon of salt-free lemon pepper per drumstick is your whole plan? Jesus, Barbara, have some respect. Thank goodness for spice rubs, which prevent crimes of improper seasoning by quickly imparting complex flavors to everything they touch.
Dutch intelligence services have provided "crucial evidence" to US counterparts about Russian meddling in the 2016 elections, Dutch media reported Friday. After penetrating the network of Russian hackers known as Cozy Bear, the Dutch agents alerted US spy chiefs as they watched the Russians transfer "thousands" of Democratic Party emails ahead of the presidential vote. After digging themselves by chance into the Russians' computer network run out of a university building near Moscow's Red Square, the Dutch agents also gained access to the security cameras surveilling the room.
"No need to hunt through kielbasa recipes, this smokey take steals the show as a hearty home-style, all-in-one meal. It's especially perfect on those cold late fall and early winter nights."
"Buried deep inside your computer's Intel chip is the MINIX operating system and a software stack, which includes networking and a web server. It's slow, hard to get at, and insecure as insecure can be."
"For the last few years, the cloud backup provider Backblaze has published data on its hard drive usage and reliability stats. Today, the energy drink market is one of the most lucrative in the beverage industry, but long before the likes of Red Bull and Monster were surging through our bloodstreams, a certain crimson red can of super-caffeinated cola called Jolt was the go-to carbonated drink for night-owls, Atari addicts, and computer geeks in the '80s and early '90s. And while energy drinks have grown more potent since Jolt disappeared from store shelves, it looks like you'll be able to pump yourself full of the retro OG fuel again now that Jolt is making a big comeback this month.

Last week, a massive hack of the credit bureau Equifax stole critical personally identifiable information (PII) on 143 million US citizens. The company’s response to the incident has been strongly criticized, and now we know the incompetence isn’t limited to the customer-facing sections of the company. The flaws that allowed hackers to penetrate Equifax and steal its customer data were patched several months ago.
"With tender chunks of beef enveloped in a deep, spicy and smoky sauce, Texas beef chili (or Chili con Carne) is essentially a chili-flavored beef stew. I can’t claim this version is authentic — I’ve never even been to Texas — but it is immensely satisfying, and everything I imagine the ultimate Texas beef chili to be. The recipe requires over an hour of prep and active cook time, plus several hours to simmer on the stove so it’s best to make it on a lazy weekend."
Crocs, the slip-on plastic clogs worn most notably by Mario Batali and people who subscribe to gardening magazines have—against the natural order of the universe—become a niche trend. Apparently, as demonstrated by a small-but-influential group of fashion insiders, artists, designers, celebrities, and L.A. guys with man buns who brunch, Crocs are cool now whether you like it or not.
Did the internet feel a little broken last week? While the term “net neutrality” may elicit the same effect as as taking a Tylenol PM, yesterday it got some serious star power behind it. Silicon Valley celebs from over 40 tech companies like Facebook, Google, Reddit, Netflix, and Pornhub rallied to inform the masses of the dangers of net neutrality rules being removed.
"Wallpaper music? None here. These are the albums that have shifted moods and created new worlds.."
